ExploringIn Denmark

Places to go

This list is not exhaustive, and I will add more places as I visit them.

Møns Klint

Møns Klint consists of cliffs located about 2 hours drive from Copenhagen. I would say it’s a must-visit destination.

While Denmark may not offer many road trip destinations, this one is definitely worth your time.

I recommend visiting during spring/summer for the best chance of clear skies.

I personally went during winter in January, and we were lucky to have a beautiful sunny day.

It’s better to check the weather forecast in advance since cloudy weather can significantly impact the experience.

During summer, there are additional activities available that are closed during winter.

Everything is free except that parking.

Forest tower

While doing the Møns Klint, on the way back, you can stop at the Forest tower, it’s basically a spiral tower surrounding the whole forest.

It’s really beautiful and I also recommend to go when they are a beautiful clear and sunny sky to fully enjoy the experience as the price to get in is around 20euros.

Also, here, in Summer there is extra activities you can do while in winter everything is closed.

Helsingborg

Helsingborg is a Swedish city located very close to Helsingør (Elsinore), with only a narrow strait separating them.

It makes for a nice weekend trip to visit both cities, as you can easily cross from Denmark to Sweden using the ferry service.

Louisiana Museum

Close to Helsingør, the Louisiana Museum is one of the best museums Denmark has to offer.
